Obituary For Celestine M. Yearby

Celestine M. Yearby, age 73, entered into rest on September 19, 2022.

The daughter of the late Cornelious and Izola Mathis, Celestine was born in Athens, Georgia and was a graduate of Burney Harris High School in 1968. She also graduated from Athens Technical College earning a degree in Child and Family Development. After graduation, she worked as an Educator for the Clarke County School District in Kindergarten for over ten years.

She was preceded in death by her son Eugene Wayne Yearby and one sister. Survivors include her daughter, Ferlissa Yearby; her grandchildren, Deijhon Yearby, Mark Yearby, Xavier Yearby, Xavien Yearby and Zachary Yearby; three sister, two brothers and a host of relatives.

She will be laid to rest during a private graveside service for immediate family at East Lawn Cemetery on September 23, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

    What's happening auntie I am happy that I got the chance to see you when I came down a few months ago but sad that was the last time I will see you again. I will miss you but never forget you.
