Survivors include: mother, Montine Brightwell; daughters, Sada (Germaias) Armstrong and Kindrea Brightwell; son, Jamel Carruth; grandchildren, Kahlen Johnson, Mia Brightwell, Khiza Armstrong and Ayah Armstrong; sister, Kizzy "Tay" Brightwell; brother, Terry Smith; aunts, Lynette Smith, Deborah Smith, Carolyn (Kandy) Hemphill, Sally Smith, Mary Brightwell, Khadia "Pat" Brightwell, Loretta Brightwell and Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Brightwell; uncles, Tommy Smith and Kevin Smith; best friend, Robert Winters; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Skeet, your presence will truly be missed. Your energetic spirit, words of advice and encouragement, will be remembered in so many people heart. My heart is heavy to know you are no longer in the world of living. To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. One day we shall meet again, until then, take your rest my dear dear friend. My condolences to his wonderful family who he loved dearly.
